Previously, cases of mismanagement on Twitter in regard to private chats have made headlines. Some of the private chats got leaked online, while the others were accessible to third parties. The Tesla CEO has been regularly posting about everything that is going to be considered for change on the platform. Not only this, there have already been many changes on the platform, like the verification badge and other stuff. The Twitter DMs have also been previously changed before, but now it seems like the Twitter CEO has taken inspiration from an application like Signal that offers complete end-to-end encryption. Speculations are that the creator of Signal, Moxie Marlinspike, will also help also out in updating the DM section of Twitter.

What else is on the cards for Twitter 2.0?

Apart from the end-to-end encryption, Musk is also planning to roll out voice chat and video call features on Twitter. A report by The Verge mentioned that Musk discussed Twitter 2.0 via slide presentation with the employees of his organization in Twitter’s headquarters in San Fransisco. He further talked about tackling all the loopholes surrounding Twitter as a platform, specifically the downsides of the Twitter DM feature. He has not provided any timeline for the launch of the new features until now. However, it will be interesting to see how it runs out and how the audience will react, as they are not that happy with the changes being done on the micro-blogging platform as of now.
