And without further ado, let’s begin.

Reasons to buy OnePlus 9RT 5G

1. Smooth and Sultry Display

OnePlus 9RT sports a 6.62-inch 120Hz E4 AMOLED display with 600Hz touch sampling rate (although it is limited to games and that too select supported ones). Now, these list is likely to grow and gamers would appreciate every small boost in latency. Even regular folks would appreciate the scrolling animation speeds and the quick response during their interactions with the screen. It is also a beautiful panel with bright HDR10+ colors and contrasts. There is Gorilla Glass 5 protection as well.

2. Dependable Performance (at least for now)

The smoothness mentioned in the above point extends to the general day to day user experience too. This is partly in thanks to the powerful internals such as Snapdragon 888 processor, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It seems as if Snapdragon 888’s heating issues have also been fixed thanks to its vapor chamber cooling system. As per OnePlus, the heat dissipation area of the OnePlus 9RT is 59% larger than that of OnePlus 9 resulting in a heat dissipation efficiency by 20% over the OnePlus 9. Although there are some contentions around the whole OxygenOS ColorOS merger, but the company has promised quicker updates. Speaking of which, it also assures 2 years of platform updates and 3 years of security patches. So that should prove good in the life cycle of the product.

3. Slick Design

The phone looks sick in its Hacker Black color. The silver one is also sober. The phone should be handy with just 8.3mm thickness and 198 grams of weight. Further its metal frame adds to the durability factor. You also get the alert slider on this phone, which is a OnePlus staple feature. 4. Improved Primary Camera

Compared to the OnePlus 9R, the primary camera has a better Sony IMX 766 sensor and OIS support. The latter should favor in stable videography and crispier and finer low light photography. The ColorOS-inspired camera app adds more features for your fun.

5. Robust Connectivity Options

OnePlus 9RT supports 8 5G bands that includes: 5G NR NSA: N1, 3, 5, 8, 40, 41, 78 and 5G SA: N1, 3, 5, 8, 28A (703-733MHz), TDD: N40, 41, 78). There is 4G+ carrier aggregation, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, among other things. This is a rather healthy suite of connectivity options.

6. Quick 65W charging

OnePlus 9RT ships with a 4500mAh battery that’s backed by a fast 65W charger. This wired adapter claims to fill the tank full in 29 minutes. The tests and reviews have revealed the battery life is sound for a Snapdragon 888. That said, everything isn’t sunshine and rainbows here.

Reasons to not buy OnePlus 9RT 5G

1. No wireless charging

There is no wireless charging here. Not everybody cares about this but if you do, keep note of that. That’s a convenience you are missing on the OnePlus 9RT.

2. No 3.5mm jack and No SD card

There is no headphone jack or SD card either. You have to rely on Bluetooth headphones or USB-C earphones. The max storage you can get with OnePlus 9RT is 256GB. No expansion though.

3. No IP rating

Similarly, another absent feature that we wish were here is IP rating for water and dust resistance. You will have to be careful while using the device. ALSO READ: Xiaomi 11T Pro 5G: 3 Reasons to Buy and 4 reasons not to buy

4. Token 2MP Camera

OnePlus and other brands should let go of the token 2MP cameras for depth or macro shooting purposes. Either give the user a higher 5MP sensor or a telephoto sensor instead would have been better.

5. USB 2.0 instead of USB 3.1

This is a thing only some would notice but is of importance. For the price this handset comes, USB 3.1 speeds should have been offered.

6. Software Concerns

Oxygen OS is lately called out to be buggy in its forums and across the web by its users. That must be a bit concerning for the prospective buyer. Another disconcerting aspect is that this device is shipping with Android 11 in 2022, and the new ColorOS resemblance might not be liked by all.
