Snapdragon X65 5G modem-RF features

Snapdragon X65 is based on a 4nm processing node and comes with concurrent carrier aggregation between all sub-6GHz and mmWave bands. The new modem supports top download speeds of up to 10Gbps, which is an increase from 7.5Gbps on its predecessor. Now these numbers are elusive considering the current 5G limitations. Anyway, it is amazing nonetheless and will be useful in due course. It enables dual-mode 5G, which means both standalone and non-standalone networks are supported. Further, it happens to be the first modem to incorporate 3GPP Release 16 specification. This allows for “5G phase 2” and the expansion to new services, spectrum, and deployments. What this means for you is faster, power-efficient, and reliable speeds. Another interesting aspect of X65 modem is its upgradeable architecture that will receive newer software updates for a long life span. Next up we have the Snapdragon X62, which as you’d guess a trimmed down variant of the X65 and clocks a max downlink speed of 4.4 Gbps. This is said to hit the market in H1 2022.
