Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is rolling out its ‘Bill and Keep‘ regime from January 1. This means an end to interconnect usage charges (IUC), or in other words, no more ‘6 paise per minute’ charge while making domestic calls between connections from different operators.

All calls from Jio to any network, anywhere will be free”. It further adds, “Jio is committed to lay the foundation of a Digital Society – a society where everything, everyone, everywhere is connected with the best quality service, at the lowest price globally, and has access to the most advanced digital platforms. Through technological innovation, Jio will continue to deliver revolutionary products and services to its users, with a Customer-First approach”. That is free Jio-to-Jio voice calls using the VoIP technology. The new announcement should come as a Happy New Year gift to all Jio subscribers. What do you say?
