According to South Korea’s Publication PulseNews, the Samsung series will be launched in January 2022. While its base Galaxy S22 variant will have a 50MP camera, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will come with a whopping 200MP primary camera with an Olympus branding. Now, this super megapixel camera would be part of a Penta-sensor setup.
This is not the first time that there have been reports of Samsung partnering with this Japanese brand. Earlier, renowned leaker Ice Universe had also said that the two companies are working on new camera technology. However, another report says that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a 108MP camera instead, while the other two smartphones in the series, Samsung Galaxy S22, and S22 Plus, share a 50MP primary rear camera. Now what would be the actual camera setup on the different S22 phones is yet to be seen. Anyways, another interesting talk surrounding the phone is about the debut of the long-anticipated Exynos chipset with AMD GPU. Now, even when that happens, it is to be seen whether Samsung still releases Snapdragon variants of the S22 series for select markets. We will get to know all about the phones in January 2022, which is when they are expected to launch. Source: 1, 2
